[ale] [OT] spam

The amount of spam I'm getting has slowly been increasing.  One thing
I've noticed and was wondering if anyone has any insights.  A lot of the
spam I'm getting has what appears to be a random number at the end of
the subject.  Anyone else seeing this?  Anyone know what the
significance might be?   For example, I just received one with the
following subject:
