I need to create an automatic email response to an email.  I would assume 
that I would run it either by ELM or PROCMAIL or just execute the script 
from the alias.

Can someone point me to a perl or shell based one?

If not, and I need to write my own, I need to know what to watch out for.

I can think of just a few:
1) precedence: bulk  (don't send a reply because this is from a mailing list)
2) Have a different reply to address to cut down on bouncing problems.
Can anyone think of any others?
