Well I have read all the mail about this recently and thought I should
respond.  X10.com is owned by powerhouse.  They are not the only maker of
X10 stuff, in fact they are on the pricey side.  Try
http://www.smarthome.com  there are some good deals on X10 stuff.  Also I
think Home Depot or Lowes sell some under the stanley name (as in tools).

I only hope some smart people use the new ViaVoice stuff from IBM to add
some voice controls.  This is really overkill, but sonds like a cool idea.
