Quick note: we decided to mention M$ operating systems as little
as possible in the book, so we omitted such comparisions. We
wanted to sound objective. If you're already a Linux convert,
there's no need for comparisons; but if you're not a Linux
convert, the vast difference in speed, size, stability, 
usability (imo) and cost is going to look laughably one-sided.

We'd just as soon let Linux speak for itself :)
