[ale] 2.2.X breaks XWordPerfect?

  A while back I had installined xwp on my RedHat-6.0.  Under 2.0 kernels
it worked fine.  Now when I try to run it on a 2.2 kernel it core dumps.
Has anyone run into this or have a fix?  I really need to access some 
documents.
